It is true that a picture can tell a thousand words. The most powerful pictures however, show God’s creation Glorifying him. For one that has the understanding of truth, a picture such as this does not just say a thousand words, but proclaims the definition and reason for life with one word, “Worship.” When hundreds, thousands or even millions gather to worship the one and only God, there is an experience unmatched by anything of this earth. When corporate worship reaches a level where worshiping God is uncontrollable, where worshiping God is life changing, where worshiping God is Love, where worshiping God shows his Mercy, Power, devotion, and Grace then no longer is the worship experience in the hands of the worship leaders, instead it is completely in the hands of God. The Leaders are not seen, the guitarists solos are not noticed, the singers voices are overlooked, the drums do not exist, your neighbor is not acknowledged yet the acknowledgment of the ones around you is still present because of the common reality to encounter the one and only God. When this happens we get a glimpse of Heaven.
This past week I was able to spend time with the most humble of musicians and Worship Leaders. All with one common goal and vision, “to bridge the void between the creation and the creator.” We serve to usher in the Presence of Almighty God and to begin the process of reconnecting man to God by Christ through Worship. We are here to provide the atmosphere for people to meet with God to have that experience previously explained. When a song was completed and we listened to it for the first time nobody judged any part or complained about any problem, rather we sat and stood quietly worshiping God through that song for the first time. Many times we would rejoice and applaud when it was necessary. I cannot think of a better way to initialize new worship songs. To have the songs of Cathedral of Praise used for that purpose of reconnecting creation to creator gives me unexplainable joy.
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24
